Sergi Barnils is a Catalan painter born in Bata (Equatorial Guinea) in 1954. He lives in Barcelona. His earliest paintings were generally Cubist or Fauvist landscapes and figures. In the beginning he also worked with ceramics. Gradually, it acquired an abstract style, characterized by a childlike primitivism. His drawings interact with painting and geometry. It is influenced by Joan Miró and Paul Klee. Almost all of his work is inspired by and nourished by his spiritual relationship with God. This is evidenced by the titles of his paintings and his particular iconography. In the stage of maturity it is when he works more with the pictorial technique of encaustic. He has exhibits in various Italian, German and other European museums.
